About Me

I was traveling before I was really even born.

My parents met and married in the RCAF and worked and raised a young family in Germany, travelling Europe for about 7 years in the early 1950’s.

So cool.

My Father was stationed in the Congo with the United Nations just prior to my birth. He was an amazing storyteller and I listened to every one of his adventure stories and memorized every one of his incredible photos. He did his very best to paint pictures with words and he was a passionate storyteller, enthralling all who listened …especially me. He never took himself too seriously but he had a serious traveler’s heart. Because of him I wanted to travel before was I in grade one…..rather problematic. My parents were vacationers before vacationing became the thing to do….going exotic places like “Cuba” and “Mexico” and “Hawaii” …bringing back cool books to read. When I graduated from school I took off to Australia, as far as I could go, and I’ve been making my way back, looking for a place to call home ever since. I haven’t really stopped moving and travelling but now I have found a place to call home in France and this blog is to remind me of (and hopefully show you) everything that is wonderful about Europe and France and -most certainly- Paris until I move my life to Arcachon and begin my love affair with Paris in 30 months or so.
This is my Love Letter to Paris.

It’s amazing what you can do and the places you can go when you realize how you want live….it took me a while to figure it out, but I’m sure glad I did.

It’s amazing how life puts you in the direction you are supposed to go if you have the courage to listen….sure glad I swallowed my fears
